I have been involved with running brand accounts on social media since setting up a MySpace account for Warner Pacific College way back in 2006.

I'm comfortable with all social media platforms, and pride myself on staying on the leading edge of social media trends and analytics. I started a website called Social Media for Colleges in 2013, which highlighted best practices in social media use in higher education. That site re-branded as Nonprofit Insiders in 2018 with an expanded focus beyond colleges and universities.

I specialize in analytics, crafting a brand's voice, authentic and engaging content, Facebook advertising, and building community. Below are examples of my social media work for University of Portland and Providence Foundations of Oregon.

PROUD TO BE A PILOT

Photo project for University of Portland. We set up photo booths around campus and at athletic events, and asked people to show off their Pilot pride. The photos were extremely popular on social media, and were used in campus posters, advertisements, print materials, and the website. Read more here and see all the pictures here.

FASHION PHOTOS

Award-winning photo project for University of Portland. Extremely popular with students, with each gallery (we did one every season) gathering more than 100,000 photo views in under 24 hours. BLUFF BOX

An alumni engagement project for University of Portland that won a national silver medal from Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Promoted entirely via social media, Bluff Boxes are small gift boxes sent by alumni to freshman living in their former dorms. Each box contains a small treat as well as a personal note from the alumnus welcoming the student into the UP family. Read more here.

Video project for University of Portland. I'm a big proponent of creating "offline" experiences that translate well to social media.

To help out our stressed students, the UP social media team delivered free coffee to the first 10 people who responded on Twitter and Instagram. Here are the awesome results!
